HOW REACT|EXTRACT WORKS
Preparation is the most important step for quality and long term results. Once the space being remediated is ready (ie Source Removal through HEPA), OxyPrep is used to pre-wet the soil load and substrate. For your customers and technicians, an initial visual restoration will take place. That's the indication that the surface is ready for neutralization.
Neutralization takes place with Oxypar. This step provides the physical action (chemical scrubbing) and exothermic (heat releasing) reaction that drives all soil load into a shaving cream like foam on the surface. By returning the pH of the surface to 7, we prevent the corrosion of metals and the deterioration of wood and wood composite construction materials.
Soil Load is the general term used to describe mold, mildew, spores, fungi, moss, algae and even dirt that contaminates a surface and acts as a conducive condition for supporting future growth and problems.
​​For most remediators, the final HEPA vacuuming (the last part of the "HEPA sandwich") drastically extends remediation production times due to the need for drying and final soil load removal (after cleaning).
With REACT|EXTRACT, moisture is our best friend. We vacuum extract the soil-filled foam as soon as the chemical reaction is complete to control cross-contamination (prevent spores from getting airborne) while removing all soil load from the surface, providing what the IICRC S-520 calls a "visibly clean and dust free surface".
The "HEPA Sandwich" is a method of reducing and controlling soil load levels. The first HEPA vacuum takes place before cleaning to remove gross and loose soil load from surfaces. After cleaning, the second HEPA vacuum is used to remove any residual soil load that may have formed on the surface after drying.

On most fire damage jobs, dry chem sponges are normally used prior to cleaning in order to remove as much soot as possible. This is because without chem sponges, the soot would simply smear. Because REACT|EXTRACT reacts, lifts and suspends soot into the foam that forms during the neutralization reaction, chem sponges aren't necessary, eliminating an arduous and time-consuming step from the fire damage restoration process. And less restoration time means moving your customers back into their home or business faster!
