Pyromescent is a white, one-part, water-based fire proofing coating similar in appearance to ordinary dense paint film. As a “passive fire protection” coating, upon exposure to flame or heat, it immediately expands (intumesces) providing an effective, non-combustible insulation foam and heat shield to protect the subsurface. Pyromescent also cures to a durable, mold-resistant coating for the long-lasting protection of the coating film*.

Interior conditioned and unconditioned areas of a building including finished basements, walls, ceilings and wherever an architectural paint may be used.
Pyromescent protects most construction materials including treated and untreated lumber, OSB, particle board, masonry surfaces, concrete, brick, wallboard, primed surfaces, composite construction materials and metals. Surfaces also include sheathing, trusses, framing, joists, plates, pillars, posts, beams and walls.

Pyromescent is formulated as a ready- to-use coating and should not be diluted. It can be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer to obtain an even finish. Do not apply past the point of run- off. A cross-hatching technique is the best way to ensure sufficient wet/dry film thickness and complete coverage.
Scrape the used Pyromescent from all surfaces. Clean surfaces with a low concentration of Grease Gobbler. Prime surfaces before re-painting with Pyromescent.
Up to 130 ft2 per gallon (12 wet mils / 8 wet mils), based upon product warranty and/or building code requirements based upon standardized testing. Does not include loss from over-spray or over-use.
