LeadGuard forms a durable barrier between lead-based paints and the environment. The white, self-priming formula is built for preserving both historic and architectural detail while providing excellent coverage, aesthetics and economics. The clear, self-priming formula is built for top-coating and preserving historic, architectural detail without altering the look of surfaces. In independent analysis, LeadGuard surpassed ASTM E-1795 for leadbased paint encapsulation for indoor use. Available in both White and Clear formulas.
LeadGuard ENCAPSULANT
Mix completely before use.
LeadGuard is formulated as a ready-to-use coating and should not be diluted. Only apply when both air and surface temperatures are above 45°F at the time of application and for 12 hours thereafter. When applying by airless spray, 14 wet mils are required to achieve minimum dry film thickness performance requirements of 7 dry mils. Always use a wet mil gauge to measure coating thickness during application. See "Installation Best Practices and Quality Control" for more information. Total wet film thickness and final dry film thickness is determined by the desired level of opacity. When applying by brush or roller, a minimum of 2 liberal coats is required.
