Wet Zones like bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens are notorious for mold formation. The highest tendency areas are ceilings, higher on walls, HVAC supply registers, under sinks, and in cabinets. As previously mentioned, the best way to remediate mold on surfaces in these areas is with the REACT|EXTRACT System which not only restores the surface but also leaves a neutral surface (see our recent blog post here). But how do you finish the job with a high degree of confident for you and your customer?

The MaxGuard Passive Moisture Control line was made for wet zones. Originally formulated for attics, basements and crawl spaces where moisture management is needed 24/7/65, MaxGuard has been a staple in the Enviroguard line and for remediation and restoration contractor throughout North America for years (learn more about MaxGuard technology and Tritanium™ Protection here).

MaxGuard is formulated in three colors: White, Clear and Blackout. MaxGuard White is perfect for ceilings and as a primer. It self-primes and covers surface inconsistencies in a single coat and it equally pulls double duty as a finish coat. Because it's white and formulated with the finest acrylic resins in the industry, it's also tintable for those needing a little color.

MaxGuard Clear is great when you want to overcoat an existing paint without the work and expense of priming and top coating. Our clear formula leaves a satin, moisture and mold resistant finish that can be used on everything from painted and stained surfaces through natural timbers in both residential and commercial settings.

Finally, MaxGuard Blackout was formulated with commercial ceilings and HVAC systems in mind. Whether you need it to maintain the aesthetic of a restaurant ceiling or you want to line the interior of duct work, MaxGuard Blackout provides the same breathable, moisture resistant and mold resistant performance that the MaxGuard promises.

All MaxGuard Passive Moisture Control coatings can be hand-applied by brush or roller, but they're proven to easily apply through airless paint sprayers of all types too.
